Community Collaboration
As the Light on the Corner, our church is committed to being a place of welcome, service, and outreach within the community. We strive to share God’s love by partnering with local organizations, supporting community initiatives, and creating opportunities that bring people together.
Rise Against Hunger
On February 26, 2026, our team of youth and adults packed a record number of meals for shipment to countries around the world.
Since our partnership began, we have packed and shipped over 126,000 meals. This year, the meals we packed are heading to the Philippines. The Philippines consists of over 7,000 islands in the Ring of Fire in the Pacific Ocean. One of the most environmentally disaster prone countries in the world, it faces near constant threats of natural disasters like earthquakes, typhoons and volcanic eruptions. These disasters cause displacement and major loss of livelihoods and infrastructure, and disproportionately affect poor communities in rural areas, where people rely on agriculture and fishing. The Global Hunger Index, which assesses food insecurity based on indicators that measure undernourishment and undernutrition, categorizes the Philippines as having a “moderate” level of hunger overall. Rise Against Hunger serves the regions of the Philippines where hunger is most urgent.
Lee Street Elementary
Our congregation has adopted Lee Street Elementary School to support its students and staff. Donations of school supplies, backpacks, and financial assistance help ensure children have the resources they need to succeed in the classroom.
Salvation Army Angel Tree
Every Christmas season, our church participates in the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. Members of the congregation come together to adopt children in need, providing gifts that help bring joy and hope during the Christmas season!
Artisan Market
In partnership with the City of Jonesboro, the church hosts a seasonal Artisan Market that highlights the creativity and talent within the community. Local artisans and vendors are invited to showcase and sell handmade goods, artwork, and unique crafts.
Partnerships
The church believes in working together with organizations that are making a positive impact in the community. Through partnerships with programs such as Better Healed Than Unhealed, the congregation supports initiatives that promote healing, outreach, and service.
