And Whoever Welcomes One Such Child in My Name Welcomes Me.
Children's Ministry
At Jonesboro First UMC, children are a cherished part of our church family. We’re committed to creating a safe, fun, and faith-filled environment where kids can learn about God’s love. Nursery care is available during Sunday worship for babies and toddlers, and we offer ministries for children up to 5th grade.
Children are always welcome in worship—wiggles and giggles included! We will have a Children's message early in the service where the children are welcome to come up to the front of the church. After the children's message, they may remain with their families or join Children’s Worship in the Education building. Children will be brought back to the sanctuary at the end of the service. On the first Sunday of each month, children will be brought back in time to take communion with their family.

We currently have Cub Scout Pack 543 (ages 5-11) and
Troop 136 (ages 12-18)

For more than 60 years, Jonesboro First UMC has sponsored local Scouting units, including Cub Scout Packs and Scout Troops (boys and girls), totaling over 50 scouts (ages 5–18) across the units.
This is an integrated mission of our church, celebrating our scouts during Scout Sunday and scout fundraising programs. We care passionately about what is happening to kids and our communities – and are dedicated to supporting scouting activities all year-long.
We meet every Monday that Clayton County Public Schools are in session at 7 pm in the Christian Activities Building (CAB) on our campus.
We’ve produced 54 Eagles during the life of our troop, and we have an amazing group of Cub Scouts who are just beginning their Scouting journey. Some of them are pictured here during Sunday’s worship service.
We go camping 3 times a year – to experience fishing, BB shooting, archery, and Rifle (for youth).
Please participate in our Camp Cards Fundraiser.
We are so proud of our Scouts!
